Ryan practises in both criminal and civil matters.
On the criminal law side, Ryan has particular emphasis on complex and highly specialised white collar crime matters including fraud, bribery, commercial crime, disciplinary and regulatory offences. Ryan was regularly instructed to advise and represent clients in long trials including one of the lengthiest trials on misconduct of public office charges which lasted for 82 days.
In his civil practice, Ryan frequently acts for clients in trusts, land, contract and commercial matters. Besides, Ryan advises on listing matters including compliance issues and requisitions from relevant regulatory bodies.
Ryan regularly acts for both the Department of Justice and lay clients in tax related matters including appeals before the Board of Review under the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
Prior to joining the Bar, Ryan worked in the solicitor stream at a prominent law firm with an emphasis on corporate insolvency, commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings.
Ryan obtained his LLB (Dean's Honour List) and PCLL (Distinction) where he was granted scholarships and prizes in international mooting and various academic subjects. Ryan is fluent in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
